Notch filtrs, kas pazīstams arī kā joslas pieturas filtra vai joslas apturēšanas filtrs, bloķē un noraida frekvences, kas atrodas starp tā diviem nogrieztajiem frekvences punktiem, tiek nodotas visām šīm frekvencēm abās šī diapazona pusēs. Tas ir vēl viens frekvences selektīvās shēmas veids, kas darbojas tieši pretējā veidā ar joslas caurlaides filtru, kuru mēs apskatījām iepriekš. Joslas pieturvietas filtru var attēlot kā zemas caurlaides un augstas caurlaides filtru kombināciju, ja joslas platums ir pietiekami plašs, ka abi filtri pārāk daudz ne mijiedarbojas.
